Executive Director
Brian Casey is Executive Director for the Irish Emergency Alliance and is responsible for establishing and managing each appeal from the moment of decision to launch until it is successfully wound down and closed out.
Brian has over 25 years’ experience designing, managing and monitoring humanitarian programmes having worked in over 30 disaster-affected countries across a broad spectrum of natural and human-made crises. He has extensive experience in advising aid organisations on how to establish emergency programmes efficiently and effectively, conducting independent evaluations and providing business development support within the not-for-profit sector.
Prior to his involvement in the humanitarian sector, Brian worked in the media industry for 9 years. He is a qualified accountant, holds a degree in Business and Finance and has a first-class Master’s degree in Humanitarian Action.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, running and swimming, gardening and reading. He is also an avid rugby supporter.
Admin and Fundraising Support Officer
Ana is the Admin and Fundraising Support Officer at the Irish Emergency Alliance, having joined the team in April 2024. With a strong background in fundraising and international relations, she provides vital support to both the Fundraising and Communications teams. Ana holds a Master’s degree in Gender, Politics, and International Relations from University College Dublin, where she focused on emergencies and conflict.
Her professional experience includes roles with Oxfam and Amnesty International, where she developed expertise in fundraising, advocacy, and humanitarian response. Ana’s commitment to emergency work is rooted in her earlier career as a teacher and a deep drive to create meaningful change for people affected by crises. She is especially passionate about the efficient mobilisation of resources to deliver timely, life-saving aid, which aligns closely with the Alliance’s mission.
Outside of work, Ana enjoys a wide range of creative and active pursuits, including pottery, DJing, and playing softball with her team, the Stoneballerz.
